Music at the centre / meaningful local collaboration

Performed together in person. Recorded with care. Shared as cinematic episodes.

01 / The project

Local music.
A life beyond the room.

The Sound Window is a live-session series in development for Nova Scotia’s emerging and established artists. Each session brings their songs and creative identity into focus through cinematic multicamera filming, professional audio and photography.

Performances are recorded in person, then edited and released as individual artist episodes. The project connects musicians, creative collaborators and local spaces around a shared experience of music.

Your music. A new perspective.

A considered setting, a distinctive performance and content that continues to connect after the session.

Two ways to create

One project.
Two settings.

The setting follows the music. The Sound Window is developing two complementary formats, with the creative approach shaped around each performance.

On location

Local spaces.
A larger stage.

Cinematic live shows in local venues, with room for a larger production setup. The performance, lighting and character of the space become part of the filmed experience.

In the studio

Closer to the music.

Intimate studio sessions with a more focused setting. A chance to bring the listener closer to the songs, the arrangements and the details of the performance.

02 / The format

Three artists.
Three songs each.

A proposed filming-day format: three distinct artistic perspectives, recorded in one day.

01 — SHAPE

Start with the artist.

Three artists with compatible genres share a filming day, each performing three songs. Repertoire, arrangements and visual direction are shaped around each artist.

02 — CREATE

Capture music with care.

Multicamera filming, considered lighting, professional photography and stereo audio bring the performance together. Recording, editing and mixing are followed by professional external mastering, as planned for the project.

03 — RELEASE

Give the work a next life.

Separate artist episodes are intended for weekly release, with genres rotating across the series. Selected clips and photographs extend the experience alongside a coordinated promotional plan.

03 / A glimpse of the idea

Music. People.
A sense of place.

Explore the visual direction, from performance and production to the spaces and people around the music.

04 / Create with us

Find your place
in the project.

Music brings different people together. Explore how you could take part as an artist, a brand or a venue.

For artists

Your songs.
Your point of view.

A session built around the music you want to share, in a local venue or an intimate studio setting.

  • A performance shaped with you. Discuss repertoire, arrangements and visual direction before recording.
  • Careful sound and image. The proposed production brings together multicamera filming, professional stereo audio and photography.
  • Content beyond the session. Individual artist episodes, selected social clips and photographs are part of the planned release approach.

Start with a link to your music and a few words about the session you would like to create.

Talk about your music

For brands

Connect with
local music.

Your space. Your brand. With local music, a story to share.

  • Support the creative process. Explore ways to contribute to the production of local music sessions.
  • A considered presence. Discuss a visual or creative connection that fits the performance and the character of your brand.
  • A story to develop together. Explore suitable content and promotional collaboration as the session takes shape.

Tell us about your brand, what interests you about local music and the kind of collaboration you have in mind.

Explore a collaboration

For venues

Give the music
a sense of place.

A distinctive local space can help shape the atmosphere and visual identity of an on-location session.

  • Let the space be part of the story. Explore how its character could work with the artist and the performance.
  • Plan the setup together. Discuss the available space, sound, lighting and practical needs before a session is arranged.
  • Create a local connection. Bring a venue perspective to a project built around musicians and creative collaboration.

Send a short description of your space and where it is located. We can then explore whether the format is a good fit.

Tell us about your space

Filmmakers, photographers and other production creatives are also welcome to start a conversation.
